Is this for you?
This site is for dog walkers who want guidance, not just information.
This site is for dog walkers who understand the basics of professionalism and responsibility, and who want more than just “easy dogs”, fixed rules, and capped income.
Some visitors are new to the industry and already aware that experience alone will not be enough.
Others are established dog walkers who feel confident day to day, but know they have reached the edge of what systems, platforms, and generic courses can offer.
What they share is the same realisation:
progress happens faster and more safely with the right mentor.
You may already be working within a platform or structured framework.
You may appreciate the foundations it provided, while feeling increasingly aware of its limits.
Many dog walkers reach a point where:
-
They want reassurance when judgement matters more than rules
-
They want to understand behaviour, not just avoid it
-
They want to grow their confidence without putting their business at risk
-
They want to charge for skill, not just time
This is where mentorship becomes essential.
Development begins when you are no longer asking,
“What does the system say I should do?”
but instead asking,
“What is the safest, most professional decision here?”
On this site, mentorship means:
-
Learning how to think through real situations, not memorise responses
-
Having experience translated into clear, practical guidance
-
Understanding why decisions are made, not just what to do
-
Being supported as you grow, rather than left to guess
Whether you are early in your career or years into it, this is not about rushing you into difficult dogs or higher risk work.
It is about developing judgement, confidence, and professional identity — with someone who has already walked that path.
This is not a platform.
It is not a rulebook.
It is mentorship for dog walkers who want to grow deliberately, safely, and on their own terms.
This is where development begins.
Anyone can follow guidance. Professionals develop judgement.
When systems stop being enough.
Standardised frameworks are excellent starting points. They offer structure, reassurance, and consistency.
But real dogs do not read handbooks.
As your business grows, you begin encountering:
-
Dogs that do not fit neat categories
-
Owners who need clarity and leadership
-
Situations where judgement matters more than policy
At that stage, following rules is no longer enough.
You need to understand why dogs behave as they do, and how to respond safely and professionally in real time.
That is the difference between a walker and a behaviour-led professional.

This is not theory-only training.
I have trained dogs since 1990 and run professional dog walking businesses since 2007.
My work has included:
-
Large, powerful breeds
-
Fearful and shutdown dogs
-
Reactive and high-risk cases
-
Dogs failed by standard walking set-ups
I did not learn this from certificates alone.
I learned it through decades of handling, mistakes, responsibility, and results.
This training is built on real-world decision making — not hypothetical scenarios.
You do not need to work with aggressive dogs.
Let's be clear.
You do not need to take on aggressive or high-risk dogs to benefit from this training.
These skills:
-
Make all dogs easier to handle
-
Improve safety and confidence across your entire client base
-
Allow you to choose your clients, not accept whoever enquires
-
Reduce stress, guesswork, and burnout
Many professionals never move into complex cases — but the knowledge still transforms their business.
This is about capability, not obligation.
A clear progression, not a cliff edge.
Professional growth should feel structured and safe.
Training follows a clear developmental path:
-
Reading dogs accurately and early
-
Handling skills that prevent escalation
-
Equipment knowledge and correct application
-
Walk structure: solo, parallel, group
-
Risk assessment without fear-based avoidance
-
Policies, boundaries, and professional decision making
You develop skills step by step, building confidence through understanding — not bravado.

Why this is different from standard dog walker education.
Most dog walker education focuses on:
-
Rules
-
Restrictions
-
Insurance language
-
Avoidance
This focuses on:
-
Judgement
-
Observation
-
Decision making
-
Professional confidence
Anyone can follow a system
.
Professionals learn how to think.
This may not be the right fit if…
-
You only want to walk “easy” dogs and stay there
-
You want fast certificates without depth
-
You are uncomfortable taking responsibility for decisions
-
You dislike learning theory or reflecting on your practice
-
You are not interested in growing beyond your current level
That is not a failure.
It simply means this training is not designed for you.

About me
Guiding Dog Walkers to Thrive in Life and Business.
Hi, I’m Tori, and dogs have been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember.
I started out as a professional dog trainer, working closely with dogs and their families to build better bonds and behaviour. In 2007, I took a leap of faith and launched my own dog walking company — at a time when most people had never even heard of professional dog walkers. Back then, when I told people what I did for a living, I was often met with raised eyebrows and curious questions.
But the demand grew, and by 2009, I’d hired my first dog walkers to help keep up with the wagging tails and muddy paws. Before long, I had a full team and found myself mentoring, coaching, and supporting them — not just in dog care, but in building confidence, managing clients, and balancing the pressures of working outdoors every day.
Today, dog walking has become a popular profession, but with it has come a new challenge: so many dog walkers work alone and feel isolated. I know how tough that can be, and that’s why I created TLC Canine Crusaders Mentoring — a dedicated platform to train, mentor, and support dog walkers both in business and personal wellbeing.
With qualifications in Social Sciences and a background in wellbeing support, I understand how important it is to care for the person behind the business. This isn’t just about walking dogs; it’s about creating a life you love, building a business you’re proud of, and having a supportive community around you every step of the way.
You don’t have to do this alone. Join the Crusade — and let’s grow together.
