Cancellations

Reassurance for Dog Walkers 

Adding a cancellation policy isn’t rude. It’s professional.

Most clients completely understand that this is your livelihood, not a hobby. Clear boundaries prevent awkward conversations later, protect your time, and actually build trust. When expectations are set kindly and upfront, everyone feels more comfortable.

You’re not being unkind. You’re being clear.

Cancellation & Changes Policy (Template)

We understand that life happens. Dogs get muddy, humans get busy, and plans sometimes change. To ensure fairness to all clients and to protect our walkers’ time, the following cancellation policy applies.

 

Cancellations by the Client

  • Cancellations must be made with at least 24 hours’ notice before the scheduled walk.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at the full rate.

  • Failure to provide access to the dog or property at the scheduled time will be treated as a late cancellation and charged in full.

 

Same-Day Cancellations

  • Same-day cancellations, including those due to work changes, weather preferences, or forgotten bookings, are non-refundable.

  • This is because the time slot cannot usually be reallocated at short notice.

 

Illness (Dog or Owner)

  • If your dog is unwell, please notify us as soon as possible.

  • At our discretion, illness-related cancellations may be waived if sufficient notice is given.

Block Bookings & Regular Slots

  • Regular, reserved walking slots are held exclusively for your dog.

  • Repeated cancellations may result in the loss of a regular slot.

  • Refunds are not given for unused walks within a block unless otherwise agreed in writing.

 Cancellations by the Dog Walker

  • In the rare event that we need to cancel a walk (for example, due to illness or an emergency), you will receive:

    • A full refund, or

    • A replacement walk, where possible.

 Weather Conditions

  • Walks will continue in most weather conditions suitable for dogs.

  • Walks will only be cancelled by us if conditions are deemed unsafe (e.g. extreme heat, ice, storms). In these cases, refunds or alternatives will be offered.

Agreement

By booking our services, you agree to this cancellation policy.
