TLC Pet Care Provider Pledge Accreditation – Summary
The TLC directory exists to promote welfare‑led, force‑free pet care across all services. To be listed, providers must commit to putting the welfare, safety, and emotional wellbeing of animals first at all times.
Accredited providers agree to use kind, humane, and force‑free handling methods, avoid intimidation, fear, pain, or coercion, and act in each animal’s best physical and emotional interests. Care must be tailored to the individual animal, delivered with patience, respect, and professionalism, and supported by open, honest communication with guardians.
All providers must operate responsibly, follow relevant animal welfare legislation and professional standards, hold appropriate insurance, and meet any licensing requirements applicable to their services. Where equipment is used, it must be applied calmly, safely, and purely for welfare and safety, never for punishment or correction.
By applying, you confirm that your services align with welfare‑led principles, whether you are a dog walker, groomer, trainer, home carer, or veterinary professional, and that you agree to uphold these values while listed in the TLC directory.
