The Poo Pick Pro™ Business Guide

How Dog Walkers Can Add £500–£2,000 Per Month with a Simple Garden Service

Introduction

Many dog owners struggle to keep on top of waste in their gardens, particularly in multi-dog households, during winter months, or due to time constraints.

The Poo Pick Pro™ model introduces a simple, repeatable service that solves a constant problem for clients while creating a reliable, recurring income stream for dog walkers and pet care professionals.

This guide will show you how to:

  • Introduce the service professionally

  • Price it for consistent profit

  • Deliver it efficiently

  • Build long-term, repeat clients

The Concept

Poo Pick Pro™ is a scheduled garden waste removal service.

It is designed to:

  • Maintain clean, hygienic outdoor spaces

  • Reduce odour and mess

  • Save clients time and effort

This is not just a task-based service; it is a convenience subscription service.

What the Service Includes

Each visit typically takes 20 - 30 minutes, depending on garden size and number of dogs.

Standard service includes:

  • Full garden scan and waste collection

  • Bagging and secure disposal (or client bin use)

  • Quick visual check of garden condition

  • Gate security check before leaving

Optional extras can be added for additional revenue.

Pricing Strategy

1. Weekly Service (Core Model)

  • 1 small dog (Uptown 10kg): £10–£15 per visit

  • 1 Medium dog (Up to £25kg): £12–£18

  • 1 Large Dog (Over £25): £15 - £22

  • Extra small dog: £2 -£6 per dog

  • Extra medium dog: £5 - £8

  • Extra large dog: £6 - £12

Pricing depends on:

  • Garden size

  • Waste volume

  • Ease of access

2. Twice Weekly Service

Offer at a slightly reduced per-visit rate:

  • £18–£30 per week total for one dog

This is ideal for:

  • Multi-dog households

  • High-demand clients

3. One-Off Clearance

For heavily soiled gardens:

  • Small garden: £25–£40

  • Medium garden: £40–£70

  • Large/severe: £70+

Always assess before quoting.

4. Premium Add-Ons

Increase revenue per client with:

  • Patio rinse-down: +£10–£20

  • Artificial grass treatment: +£15

  • Deodorising spray treatment: +£10

  • Bin sanitising: +£5–£10

Packaging for Recurring Income

Weekly Clean Garden Plan

  • Fixed weekly visit

  • Discounted rate for ongoing service

This creates:

  • Predictable income

  • Loyal, long-term clients

  • Easier route planning

Multi-Service Bundle

Combine with dog walking:

  • Discount when both services are booked

  • Increases client lifetime value

Equipment Requirements

Startup costs are low (£30–£80). Essential items include:

  • Poop scoop or rake set

  • Heavy-duty waste bags

  • Gloves (disposable or reusable)

  • Disinfectant spray

  • Boot covers (optional)

Optional upgrades:

  • Branded uniform

  • Dedicated waste bin system

Service Boundaries

To maintain professionalism and safety:

This service does not include:

  • Hazardous waste beyond dog faeces

  • Overgrown or unsafe gardens

  • Aggressive dogs loose in the garden

Policy recommendation:

Dogs must be kept indoors during service unless assessed as safe.

How to Position the Service

Avoid framing this as a “dirty job”.

Instead, position it as:

“A professional garden hygiene service that keeps your outdoor space clean, safe, and usable all year round.”

Focus on:

  • Cleanliness

  • Convenience

  • Health

Income Potential

Example:

  • 10 clients at £12 per week = £120

  • 20 clients = £240 per week

  • Monthly income = £1,000+

With route optimisation, higher volumes can generate significantly more.

Implementation Plan

Step 1: Offer to Existing Clients

Introduce to current dog walking clients first.

Step 2: Start with Weekly Plans

Push recurring services rather than one-offs.

Step 3: Route Planning

Group clients by location to maximise efficiency.

Step 4: Upsell Add-Ons

Introduce additional services gradually.

Step 5: Build Reputation

Encourage referrals and local recommendations.

Final Thoughts

The Poo Pick Pro™ system is a simple but powerful addition to any dog walking business.

It provides:

  • Consistent, predictable income

  • High demand, year-round

  • Minimal training or setup

When positioned correctly, it becomes a core revenue stream that complements your existing services and strengthens client retention.

⭐ Client Expectations & Waste Disposal Policy

A clear, professional explanation for clients

How We Handle Waste During Your Poo Pick Pro™ Service

To keep your garden clean, hygienic, and safe, all waste collected during your Poo Pick Pro™ visit is managed using a simple, professional process designed to protect both your home environment and our team.

Our Waste Disposal Standard

• All dog waste is securely bagged using heavy‑duty, leak‑resistant bags.

• Bagged waste is then placed in your general waste (black) bin, which is the correct and council‑approved method for disposal.

• If you prefer an alternative disposal location, just let us know and we will follow your instructions.

If Your Bin Is Full or Unavailable

If your general waste bin is full, locked away, or not accessible at the time of service, we will:

1. Place the securely bagged waste in a designated spot agreed with you in advance, or

2. Follow any specific instructions you have provided for temporary storage.

To maintain hygiene and safety standards, we do not remove waste from your property unless this has been pre‑arranged as an additional service.

What You Can Expect From Us

Your Poo Pick Pro™ technician will always:

• Complete a full garden scan

• Remove all visible dog waste

• Bag and dispose of waste responsibly

• Check gates and access points are secure before leaving

• Notify you of any concerns (e.g., unusual waste, hazards, or garden issues)

What We Ask From You

To ensure we can deliver the service safely and efficiently:

• Please ensure dogs are indoors during the visit unless previously assessed as safe.

• Provide access to your general waste bin or let us know where you’d like waste placed.

• Keep the garden reasonably accessible (no locked gates, blocked paths, or unsafe conditions).

What the Service Does Not Include

For safety and compliance reasons, Poo Pick Pro™ does not cover:

• Hazardous waste (e.g., needles, chemicals, wildlife remains)

• Overgrown, unsafe, or obstructed gardens

• Handling aggressive or unassessed dogs in the garden

If we encounter anything that prevents safe service delivery, we will contact you immediately.

Our Commitment to You

Poo Pick Pro™ is designed to give you:

• A consistently clean outdoor space

• Reduced odour and mess

• More free time

• A reliable, scheduled service you don’t need to think about

We take pride in providing a professional, discreet, and dependable garden hygiene service that keeps your outdoor space usable all year round.

A note on business and professionalism

This guide assumes one thing: you are running a business, not a hobby.

Pet care is more than a passion—it’s your livelihood, and it deserves the same professionalism, planning, and respect as any other business. Treating it like “just a job for fun” won’t get you the results or freedom you want.

You are allowed to:

  • Charge enough to make your business sustainable

  • Set and enforce clear boundaries with clients

  • Expect respect from clients, peers, and the wider pet care industry

  • Take your work seriously, even when others don’t

  • Build a business that supports you, not just every pet and client

Professional success starts with self-respect—and pet care businesses built on self-respect thrive for the long term.
