UK Dog Walkers & Pet Care Providers
This checklist covers the minimum legal and regulatory standards required to operate professionally in the UK, alongside best-practice measures that materially reduce legal exposure.
1. Business & Trading Legality
✔ Correct business structure in place
Sole trader / Limited company registered correctly
Company details up to date at Companies House (if applicable)
✔ HMRC registration
Registered for Self Assessment (sole traders)
Corporation Tax registration (limited companies)
PAYE in place if employing staff
